Science and techonology have advanced so much in the last 50 years that startling leaps in development occur every 5 to 10 years, rather than every hundred or two hundred as was during the 1200s onwards. We now know more about the world we live in and how we effect it far more than we ever did. However some of the stuff we know about it can scare us, something that we have never had to deal with before.
