which is better for the environment? cremation or burial ??

    green burial (no embalming fluid, wicker or pine casket)

    cremation (energy)

    traditional burial (embalming fluid, metal or treated hardwood caskets)

Being buried in an environmentally friendly manner is best.  Unlike a traditional cemetery, they do not involve embalming and use caskets that biodegrade easily.  There is no vault used (the concrete burial vault the casket is placed in).  The cemeteries are typically woodlands with no headstone and insted an rfid chip in the ground as a locator.

    Cremation is better than a traditional cemetery, but it does use a lot of energy to cremate the body.
