Environment for aloe vera?

Question

I have a pot of aloe vera. Does the environment in which it exists matter?

I mean should I put it indoors in summer and outdoors in winter?

anyone have any suggestions?

just make sure it does not get to much water

I've always left mine out in a not direct sunlight spot.  Maybe some sunlight but not baked.

In a sunny spot out of draught and not too much water will do
