In my childhood in the 1940s and 1950s, everything came either in plain paper bags, or greaseproof paper bags and/or cartons.  The only folk who have stuck to the paper and cardboard are the Americans who never liked plastic bags unless as for bin liners.

A friend of mine introduced me to corn-based environmentally friendly food containers. Here is a link for you to follow. You might like these, the Southern Company uses them exclusively, due to them being a "green" solution.

cardboard cartons, can be recycled.

at a festival recently and the hot food was served in this nice carton which had recyclable stamped on the side.
