Environmental Service project?

I have to do an Environmental Service Learning Project. I was thinking about doing something for animals like ones that are endangered. Does anyone have any ideas? (animals do help, ways to raise money, etc).

You can't go wrong with a World Wildlife Fund project heres a good one coming up for Earth day.

I think you will find the group defenders of wildlife very helpful. Also, I recommend getting on their mailing list as you will have the opportunity to participate in their petition and networking process. http://www.defenders.org/index.php  Perhaps you could help promote some of the initiatives with Defenders of Wildlife at an upcoming earth day event? Or maybe you could collect data on public opinion. Or initiate a petition to get your local government to improve an area.  Another great local group is the humane society who would surely work with you and could use your assistance in furthering their causes.  Best of luck, I think you could find this project very rewarding.

Okay tell you what google your state or province and look for endangered species find one that could be in your area and research it to find out what made it endangered what is being done to safe it/help it.Environmental service could also include a clean up of a local water course or ravine that is being used as an illegal dump.Can also include a local hiking trail/exercise trail such as an old railway line converted to said hiking trail Good luck

When we set out to serve the environment we should not be focused too narrowly on endangered species. We have to help establish environments that will support many different species. Failure to look after the other species becomes a threat to the species we come to protect.

Yes, we do have to pay attention to species that are in danger, but mostly because they indicate an imbalance very likely to spread to other species. The endangered species are so few in numbers that their demise will have only a slight effect, but leaving the conditions causing their demise will hurt many species.
