I had to pick last year for this upcoming school year which course I wanted to take.

Anatomy was SO out of the question for me, personally.

But I dont know if I made the right choice.

I like how environmental is a little more easier and I think it's interesting, somewhat.

I didn't chose forensics becuase I had a feeling you had to deal with blood in some cases or dead stuff, or bugs or some c**p like that. I REALLY do not like blood. And get weezy looking at it.

So, my question is: Does some cases in forensics deal with blood? And did I make the right decision by choosing Enviro. Science?

(Highschool courses by the way)

  1. It doesn't matter all that much what you take in H.S. When you get to college, you will find out that much of it was wrong. Similarly, when you get to grad school, you will find out that you got misinformation in college and when you do research, you will discover that your professors in grad school were wrong about some things too.

What I am saying is that the most important thing you can take away from H.S. is the ability to study and learn. Therefore, you may as well take the courses you like best. In addition, anatomy involves more rote memory at H.S. and college levels than the other courses and teches you less for that reason. Forensics is the new kid on the block, prompted by the success of the C.S.I. series of shows on TV. In theory, you could learn more about thinking from that course but a good ES course should not be far behind. You may wind up looking at bugs anyway, though. Enjoy.

  2. Choosing course depends on how do you like it, not pertained by others. If you don't like the course pertained by others, what will you pick? Your liked or others' liked? Of Course your liked.

    Otherwise, in the second question:

Does some cases in forensics deal with blood?

Of Course some cases in Forensics deal with blood. This is an example (Actually not example, in news that I've watched!):

A boy in the house is playing toys, while the mother is insane, then the boy got near his mom and talked for awhile, since his mom was insane, his mom crashed his head into the wall (5 x)....then the mother go to the hospital with her son (the one she crashed into the wall), then he said to the doctor: "Doc, Doc, my son has seizure!"....then in the Lab, the forensics opened the brain of the boy, then the mother now telled the truth because she knew she'll be caught lying: "Oh Sorry, I'm Very Sorry! I crashed his head into the wall for no cause.".

  3. According to your preferences, I'd say you made the right choice.

In anatomy, you have to dissect animals such as baby pigs. I don't mind it, but if you don't like that kind of stuff, then environmental science is the way to go.

  4. This sounds a little intense for high school. I think I would go with environmental.

  5. Most of the time, forensics classes don't deal with actual blood, though they may deal with it conceptually, in terms of DNA, etc. But I think it's more technical and theoretical than hands on.

Even so, I took AP Environmental science my junior year and LOVED it.

It was one of my favorite classes I took in high school.
