Environmental thoughts..?

Question

I intend to initiate small activities with regard to the global warming and enironmental friendly,at my school level and if successful to proceed to the community level.Do share ur views on practical ways to carry out this task of raising awareness.

The general ideas regarding using eco friendly products,less water n so on are known and can be easily said and evn forgotten.So,ways to make ot lasting and thus to make a generation aware of this crisis..

I initiated The Shoebox Project <www.ShoeBoxProject> in my community.  We recycle shoeboxes by decorating them & filling with toiletries, school supplies, & small games & toys.  They are distributed to kids in need through local social service agencies.  I also do the same thing w/old jeans by making tote bags from them  Leftover denim is used to make quilts I send to Iraq for wounded servicemen & women.  (There are pics of the tote bags & quilts on my site).

Developing awareness by teaching others how to do good with their old items makes a positive impact.  Good luck on your project!

how about cleaning products ? they are usually laden with harmful chemicals .

bi-carb and vinegar will clean almost any thing ,google a few more eco friendly cleaning aids ,have a demo at school ,and make up a little book to sell at the demo.
