The current scenario has evolved after intimidating comments made from the Real Madrid boss and Barcelona’s full back.
Mourinho taunted the Spanish giants on winning the Club World Cup. Apparently the Portuguese mentor offered his congratulations to Barca, rather sarcastically. He stated that they had won two little games.
Responding to Mourinho, Daniel Alves felt compelled to rebut the comments made by the self proclaimed ‘Special One’. He stated that the success achieved by the Spanish Champions, and the Champions League title holders, is a cause of envy for the Whites.
Consequently, Real Madrid’s Pepe was quick to respond to the words of Alves. He attempted to make a statement which would refute the comments made by the Barcelona defender.
The Portuguese international was quoted as saying:
"Envy? We have no envy of anyone. I play for the best team in the world. Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world and cannot be envious of others."
The center-back also discussed Real Madrid’s mid-week Copa Del Rey counter against Ponferradina. Los Blancos emerged 5-1 winners and qualified for the pre quarter final stage of the tournament.
Pepe expressed that he was elated with the way his team performed. He stated that he was very confident playing for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit. The Portuguese defender mentioned how he enjoyed the fact that his team is in a preferable position in
all competitions that they are currently a part of.
"We played with humility, respect and worked well. All Madrid is happy people, we will spend a quiet Christmas and in January come back to work for everything. We have to keep working well to celebrate something at the end of the season. “
