Enzo Calzaghe wants to train Bolton proud Amir Khan – Boxing News
Joe Calzaghe’s father and trainer Enzo Calzaghe wants to train British-Pakistani fighter Amir Khan to victory. Khan, who is already considering to make amendments to his training camp, now has an option.
Enzo Calzaghe’s son and fighter Joe Calzaghe is an unbeaten former world champion. In other words, Enzo has solid proof he can train any fighter to be the same.
“People say he should quit but I don't think he should be quitting. I believe with the right trainer – and my CV speaks for itself – he will be unbeatable I would love to train the kid,” said Enzo.
He added, “My next goal is to talk to Khan and his team. We spoke before, about three years ago. I have always believed Amir is a great fighter, despite what people think.”
This might just be the right moment for Enzo to pitch in. Amir Khan has already spoken of changing his trainer.
In his recent interview, the Bolton proud said, “I need a trainer with me 100%. Freddie is a very busy guy and he is busy because he is a great trainer and is one of the best and biggest names out there. I don't really want to be sharing.”
Khan is upset over his knockout loss to Danny Garcia in the fourth round. The former WBA and IBF unified titlist went down tumbling by Garcia’s left hook. It was a devastating shot, which left many wondering if Khan has the ability to take strong blows.
Nevertheless, Khan, who always makes it a mark to keep his fans sparked, revealed he has not been concentrating on his training well. According to Khan, he travels more than he trains, in regards to training with Hall of Famer coach Freddie Roach.
Khan is now demanding 100% from Freddie Roach, even though he knows Roach’s number one fighter is Filipino Manny Pacquiao.
Although Freddie Roach claims Khan is not looking forward to change his coach, rumours suggest it is happening. The Hall of Famer trainer might have to say good-bye to his number two fighter for his number one fighter if it happens.
