It was reported that Morgan would lead England’s Twenty20 side against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in the only T20I game, played on June 25, in the absence of injured Broad. However, the injury did not stop Broad from starting his campaign with the match.
However, it was an unimpressive start for the skipper as he went for a duck in the Twenty20 match against Sri Lanka, played at County Ground, Bristol, which the visitors won by nine wickets.

Morgan also negated speculations that he will soon take over as England’s ODI and Twenty20 captain, saying that three-man captaincy leads to no confusion. . He suggested that they should keep faith in the fact that every player in the team will fulfill his
job properly.
England will play their first One-Day International against Sri Lanka on June 28, 2011, under the captaincy of newly appointed ODI skipper, Alastair Cook.
