Eoin Morgan, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749 T20 captain, is still hoping to make a Test return and wishes to play in the on-going Ashes series.
The stylish left-handed batsman injured his hand during a T20 match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ireland-c751 born cricketer hopes to be fit once again and vows to score runs in county cricket to regain a place in the Test
team.
Morgan is frustrated to be out of competitive cricket due to the injury but revealed that the on-going Ashes series is a massive motivation for him to work hard to gain the attention of the selectors.
“The Ashes is always huge and my hunger is still there, the motivation is still there to be a part of it,” said the middle-order batsman. “Obviously it's a testing time being injured. But I've been here before, you can't start getting agitated and wishing
you were there.”
The 26-year-old cricketer has so far played 16 Tests, 102 One Day Internationals and 36 T20 Internationals, having scored more than four thousand runs at the ultimate stage of the game.
Morgan made his Test debut in 2010 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 and has so far scored two centuries and three half-centuries. However, a run of inconsistent performances in the five-day format led to his exclusion from the Test team, although he remains an integral
part of the English squad in the shorter formats of the game.
The middle-order batsman was a part of the Test squad for the tour of India last year but did not get an opportunity to showcase his skills.
