Eoin Morgan upbeat about a good show against Pakistan – Cricket News Update
The English middle-order batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Eoin-Joseph-Gerard-Morgan-c56032, is upbeat about a good show against Pakistan in the fourth and final One-day International of the series.
The Irish born cricketer has been struggling for runs on the tour of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 but he has said that he is not out of form; rather it is the lack of cricket that has to do with the runs drought.
He said, “I haven't felt out of form. I've been out of form before and there are times I've not seen where my next run is coming. Here I just haven't got the runs I wanted. I know where I want to score. I think the fashion in which I've played show I'm still
in reasonable touch as opposed to not knowing where my next run would come from.”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Morgan-c77707 averaged a mere 13.66 runs per innings in the three Test matches against the Men in Green, however, he showed glimpses of his class in the third ODI when he played an unbeaten knock of 24.
England were rattled by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 in the Test series 3-0, and the right-arm off-spinner Saeed Ajmal was the curator of their destruction. Ajmal notched up 24 wickets at an astonishing average of 14.70.
Morgan acknowledged the bowling of the Pakistani spinner but he admitted that the English cricketers were a bit rusty in the Tests because of a lengthy lay-off. The Irishman also admitted that he was off colour as well.
Morgan said, “Ajmal has been in a fantastic run of form of late and again, having not played in four or five months caught up with us - me in particular. I've been off for quite a well. Even though I spent some time in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 before Christmas it doesn't replicate
what you're up against. It was hard work.”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749 has a chance for redemption and can take revenge for the Test series defeat. The Poms lead the ODI series 3-0, and a win in the fourth ODI will complete a series whitewash for them. The match between the two sides kicks-off at 11:00 GMT and will
be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, February 21, 2012.
