Question:

Epi Lasik fears?

I have taken appointment for Epi Lasik surgery for next week. I am very afraid now after looking at some of the yahoo answers.

1. Fears of pain

2. There was a case whose eye sight was not recovered even after 2 weeks of surgery.

3. I can afford to take leave at office for a maximum of 2 weeks. Will that be sufficient?

Please help me and suggest if I can go ahead with the surgery.

Thanks.

  1. No there are no pain at all.

There might be but there are many successful cases.

    Yes.

  2. 1.  Your doctor will offer oral sedation (like Valium), along with STRONG numbing drops.  You shouldn't feel a thing except for the device used to hold your eyelids open.

    2.  Of course there is risk, but if you are healthy and have healthy eyes, the procedure is safe.  There are 'bad cases' to every type of surgery.

    3.  Epi Lasik patients mostly feel comfortable to return to work in about 5 days.  2 weeks is more than enough.  Your vision might be SLIGHTLY blurry in 2 weeks, but hopefully good enough to drive comfortably.
