Epic LeBron James performances in the Eastern Conference Finals last season - Part 1
The Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics was billed as the clash of two legacies. In what was an acid test of him, LeBron James completely took over the series, one which the Miami Heat won after seven gruelling
games.
With Chris Bosh not available for the early part of the series, James played as more of a power forward and was never shy from slicing past the famed Celtics defense as per will. He was aggressive, determined and was clearly looking
for vengeance from the team which has caused him the most pain in his career so far.
By the time, this epic series ended, James had finished with five double-double’s, leading the Heat in scoring with 235 points, rebounds (77) and blocks (9).
Here is a look at some of his best game from the series,
32 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks – Game 1
In the very first game of the series, LeBron James and Co stamped their authority of the C’s by handing them a 93-79 defeat. James was the star of the show for the Heat. He scored 13 points in the first quarter, two more than the
total Celtics tally for the frame, and finished the night with 32 points on a 13 of 22 shooting, 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.
34 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists – Game 2
In a 115-111 overtime thriller, Miami Heat overcame a 44 point, 10 assist and eight rebound night from Rajon Rondo to take a 2-0 lead in the series. Once again, they were led by their small forward James, who finished the night
3 assists shy of a triple – double with 34 points on a 7 of 20 shooting, 10 rebounds and 7 assists.
On that night James struggled to find the inside of the floor, but covered up by going to the foul line continuously and ended the game with an 18 of 24 effort from the stripe. That ultimately turned out to be the difference on
the night. C’s coach Doc Rivers highlighted the fact post game.
"LeBron James took 24 free throws tonight," He said. "And our team took 29."
