Epidural without local anesthetic ?

I just started a going to a pain management Doctor for nerve damage and pain.

He mentioned that this was a procedure that he he does and I just want to know more from others with personal experience with it.

It sounds horrible to me. From what I understand, they do an epidural with no pain killer before hand....

If you are familiar with this procedure, I would love to hear your response.

  1. with an epidural, all you feel is a slight sting when they put the needle in along with some pressure.

  2. i had epidurals for pain relief related to a disc rupture. it feels like a slight sting when he or she puts the needle in. it is not that bad and when you go home, everyone feels sorry for you and waits on you hand and foot. :) they didn't help me that much overall. tramadol helped me much more.
