  1. I have eplilepsy and I am also pregnant..i have my epilepsy in control..so theirs not much problem at all..i do take tegretol and my doc said that i need that inorder to control my seziures..everything has been so far so good..no seziures..thank GOd.

  2. I haven't but my husband's best friend's wife has, and she's had 2 kids who are healthy even though she had to take strong medicine throughout each pregnancy. I think she was on pheno barbitol. You can also get a "medical alert" service dog who can let you know beforehand if you're going to have a seizure so you can keep yourself safe.

  3. I have epilepsy and have had 2 children.

I don't depend on medicine to control my seizures...I just avoid my trigger so I can't help you with the medicine part.

There might be pregnancy safe medication that your doc can prescribe.

My pregnancies were both fine, no seizures.....but just so you know, you might not be able to do a home birth or anything like that.I tried and they said it was too risky, the midwives turned me down.So I had to have a hospital birth both times.

  4. I work with a girl who is epileptic and pregnant. She's had a few seizures and was ok for the most part, but two weeks ago she went to the doctor after falling and was in early labor. She's about a month behind me so she's around 24 weeks I think. The doctor put her on bed rest for the rest of her pregnancy.
