Sylvia Fowles
Sylvia Fowles recorded a double-double on the night and ended with 16 points and a game-high 12 boards. The young centre played for nearly 33 plus minutes and went 5 for 8 from the field. She scored five consecutive points in the
last minutes of the second quarter to put Sky ahead by 37-34 at halftime.
Erin Thorn
Erin Thorn chipped in 14 points for the Chicago. The guard also dished out four assists and grabbed three rebounds, pinning 2 of 5 three-pointers in the loss.
Michelle Snow
Michelle Snow added just two points in the losing effort but the forward centre became the 12th player in the history of the league to reach 2,000 rebounds. The 31-year-old player is now the WNBA’s seventh player with
2,800 points, 2,000 rebounds, and 300 blocks.
Game 3: Connecticut Sun vs. Los Angeles Sparks
Tina Charles
Tina Charles had a night to remember. The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year scored a game-high 22 points and tied her career high with 23 rebounds to lead the Sun to victory in hard fought game. The player scored 12 of her points
in the first two quarters and hit 11 of 21 from the field.
Charles was satisfied with her contribution in her team’s victory as she said, "Last year it was more like 'wow,' " "Now I just want to do whatever my team needs for us to win."
Renee Montgomery
Renee Montgomery paced Connecticut with 17 points and five assists. The player also notched 8 of 9 free throws that came her way and played a major role in uplifting the team in the final quarter of the game, scoring four of her
points in the last 35 seconds.
Kristi Toliver
Kristi Toliver was the only bright spot for Los Angeles on the night. The 24-year-old came off the bench with a team-high 19 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Toliver also made game high four 3-pointers and shot
7-for-17 from the field.
