  1. yea its good for a beginner bro

not only is it cheap but it sounds good

and this is your moment of true where you find out if youre a

    GIBSON OR A FENDER player

epiphone = cheap version of gibson (which is almost the same thing)

squier = cheap version of fender ( dont buy squier)

  2. Um, and you come up with this perfect 50-25-25 ratio from where might I ask? To get a metal sound it helps to have a decent amp with some nice distortion. Pedals can help to enhance the weaker amps... Hehe. Definitely get a guitar with full humbuckers. Single coil pickups just don't cut it when it comes to metal. If you don't know the difference of the two, or even what pickups are I'll give you a quick overview. Pickups pick up the sound from the strings and send it through to the amp. They are located just under the strings. If the pickup just has one thin rectangle then it is single coil, if there are two that form a thicker rectangle than it is a humbucker.

    Example:

That is a fender strat, it has 3 single coil pickups.

That is a Gibson Les Paul, although not ideal for metal, it does have two full humbuckers.

You can upgrade the pickups as well, but I wouldn't worry about that on a cheap guitar like a Les Paul Junior.

  3. Yes it is good for begineer i personally used a squier strat as my beginner guitar.  The epiphone les paul junior is a pretty solid guitar that sounds awesome you're geting your moneys worth. Now for your second question is it good for metal like i tell everyone else the music you make comes 50% from you, 25% from your guitar, and 25% from your distortion. Yes I would recommened a les paul for metal but in the end it comes down to you

And to the reply below mine

I know kick tale metal guitarist who play metal using a TELECASTOR. In the end it comes down to the guitarist you could have the greatest guitar and distortion but if all you know is "Mary had a Little Lamb" then it still doesn't classify as metal. Metal mainly comes from note selection, heavy palm muting, numerous off-beats in both drums and guitar. Oh and Gibson les paul not good for metal. EVer heard of Slash,Thomas Erak, etc... ALL play gibsons  les pauls all play metal.

    NOw to the asker

Get the guitar you want don't trust anyones elses review because one there will be bias and two what works for one may not work for another. So go to your local music store take your time playing the guitars make sure you like the feel of the neck, Turn off the distortion and put it on clean if you like the sound of it on clean chances are you're like it on distortion. and get what you like this way you'll be more likely to play it.
