Epogeal vs hypogeal?

im doing a lab report on corn and soybeans, and have to explain WHY corn has an hypogeal growth and soybeans an epogeal growth

any other differences between the 2 would help

  1. The big difference between corn and soybeans is that corn is a monocot and the soybean is a dicot.  The corn seedling has a hypogeal growth because it's cotyledon growth takes place below ground.  In soybeans the growth of the cotyledons is avove ground so it is epigeal growth.
