Epsom derby?

apart from year 1962, when 7 horses fell, how many other horses have fallen, or been 'brought down' in the history of the race ?

Fallers on the flat are pretty rare, I'd say even these days with racing every single day I probably only see one or two horses fall in a flat race every month.  Most horses fall because they clip heels with another horse, or they lose their footing around a bend, and also some horses fall when suffering a broken leg/shoulder

I do not know of the number of horses that have fallen in the Derby but I'd say it is probably very few.  Don't forget the Derby has been running for 227 years so that is a lot of history to cover.
