Epson all in one Dx4800

Question

Hello Team,
I am a Community Carer one of my patients living in their own home has just bought epsons all in one DX8400.
The first program on the "easy install" CD is scanner software. This fails part way with a message like " cannot copy to local folder". The machine is on inks or in place check ok. USB not connected as instructed.
So I took CD home tried install on my machine a same reported failure.
Any clues? Thank You Jonner
