Question:

Epson stylus dx6000 only prints in red?

I've tried all the recommended things, clean nozzles, etc.

yet it still only prints in red. any ideas..?

  1. use another printer cartridge. maybe you also have to clean the microchip that is embedded on the ink cartridge. Check your ink levels. The ink level may display that there are still inks but actually it's not. The computer only estimates the amount of ink to be used on the file to be printed and then is subtracted to the Pre-programmed amount of full ink level... if you reset an empty ink cartridge, then install it to the printer it will display a full one :D  


  2. I'm afraid my friend, that it is screwed. The replacement cartridges do not have the heads on them. They are just a tank of ink. I suggest the heads are blocked, and it is very unlikely that it will start printing ok again without replacing the heads. Its just not worth the time or the hassle. Chuck it and never buy epson again.

    You could try wiping under the printhead with a soft cloth and white spirit, but doubt you will get a big impovement.

  3. Have you tried replacing the ink cartage. Is the printer cartage nozzle clean. Did any ink leak inside the printer.
