Equate test..negative result but plus in control window?

Question

i took an equate hpt and it came out negative in the control window but a plus in the result window. In the diagrams it shows only one line horizontally thats suppose to be there for either result..whats with the extra line?

I'm not too familar with how that brand reads.  But, it doesn't matter if its a brand name, store brand or dollar store brand. They all work the same. Infact the ones used in Dr.'s offices arae the same as th cheap dollar store ones. Anyways, the control box just tells you that the test is working properly, if the urine moved across this window and then you got a line/+ whatever in the result window---NO MATTER how dark or light it is, their is a good chance you're pregnant. To be sure I would test again. Or you can go to a lab and have a blood test for pregancy to know for sure. they are usually under $20.00. Good luck!

Try getting a name brand test.  I wouldn't trust a generic brand.  If unable to afford one there are planned parent hood centers and other free clinics who will give you a free pregnancy test.
