Equation of a Quadratic.?

How would I do this problem?

Write the equation of a quadratic whose intercepts occur at (3, 0) and (9, 0) and whose maximum y-value is 2. You may leave your answer in any form (vertex, intercept, standard).

I tried this so far:

y = a(x - 3)(x - 9)

Which is the intercept form of the equation. However, I'm unsure of what to do with the maximum value of y being 2.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

  1. I used to LOVE these problems! I forgot over the summer. All I remember is the formula.

    -b=Sqrt of B squared minus 4ac over 2a.

    You have to convert it in the form of ax squared+bx+c

    Good luck. Sorry if I wasn't a help ><
