Eques and Kowloon Conner to collide in the Sheffield Stadium 500 Metres
Gathered for the 500 metres flat Sheffield Stadium 500 Metres are, Eques, Dacent Joker, Head Iton Hayesy, Kowloon Conner, Black Jedamac and Master Mac. All the entries for the £200 challenge are well seasoned at the open level some have excelled at it while
the rest are still struggling for the form.
Exiting from the red trap will be, Eques, while taking on the distance from the opposite end will be, Master Mac. With the high chances of winning due to recent successes at the open level is the red trap and the fourth stall.
The two-year-old trained by, C. Hopkins, Eques, won the Sheffield Stadium Standard on 24th December, 2012 at Sheffield over 500 metres. His early pace and the consequent quick lead got the red trap to the other end of the wire in 30.04 seconds.
He defeated the most popular entry for the race, Dacent Joker, by two lengths.
The runner-up will confront the rival once again tonight.
First time when he landed an open event was on 3rd June, 2012 in the Claydon Racing Puppies – Division C at Coventry over 485 metres.
Breaking out from the last trap, setting into an early pace and then leading the run up made him reach the wire in 29.90 seconds. The favourite entry made Nefan settle as the runner-up after compromising on the final three lengths.
Another threatening entry in the race is the 13 to 8 shot for tonight, the fourth trap, Kowloon Conner. The B. Draper trained had his last two outings at the open level, the first was a success while the most recent was a remorseful failure.
The two-year-old out of, Hondo Black, was done with the first heat of the Harry Holmes Memorial in 29.43 seconds on 13th December, 2012 at Sheffield over 500 metres.
The favourite entry was quick to set his distance from the rest of the lot and get jelled into the leading role. He defeated the third trap, Whiterock, by 3 ¼ lengths.
The last time the two-year-old black dog landed a race was from the fourth trap and he is going to race out in the same colour tonight.
