Equestrian: Should medals be rewarded to horses?

Just imagine: can anyone compete in Equestrian without horse?!

However, the gold medals should be made of carrots, which is far more appropriated to the real heroes in the sport!

The horses wouldn't appreciate the medals. I'm sure they are shown appreciation in many other ways though - food inparticular!

Well the horses do get awards! They don't get medals but they get a bag of good food like carrots and things that they like to gobble on. =)

It would be a waste to give a gold medal to a horse... what would the horse do with it? Food is much better, plus they also get like a nice flower thing that they can put around the horses head. xx

But an inanimated object is a whole different thing. A boat can't sail itself

No, the horse is just a piece of equipment.

It's the rider who controls the horse.

Would you give medals to the boat in sailing?

Equestrian is just there so that rich people can have a share in the Olympic glory. *grins* If anyone is going to compete on horses, I think they should be doing something like shooting arrows or jousting. Otherwise, poodles that does tricks should be allowed to compete as well.
