Equestrian pay?

can anyone give me a website about equestian stuff and how much they pay.

If you're looking for jobs (I wasn't clear on what you were looking for), I have to warn you they do not pay well. I work for Hunter/Jumper trainer Susan Sisco and I make $300/week working six twelve hour or longer days. The reason I stick with it is because I get to ride some pretty fancy horses.

Equestrian what? Please give more details. Are you asking about equestrian jobs and what they pay?

im a jockey. i make different amounts each race, but also get paid to exercise the horses every day and clean stalls, etc. my trainer gives me $600 a week for that stuff. as for websites, yardandgroom.com is the best. equimax costs money. another good one is equistaff.com its free.

I disagree with the lady who says it doesn't pay well. It all depends on the location where you are trying to make money. Places near New England dont pay very well, yes they have lots of polo horses and so on, however GA and FL have a lot of places that pay very well. It also depends on the type of barn that you go to. If you go to a barn that boards horses for a cheaper amount then you're most likely going to get payed less. However if you go to a barn that charges more you will most likely get paid more. My trainer is Ann Haller, her husband Roger Haller designed the  '96 olympic courses at the Horse Park in GA. Ann has horses pretty much given to her to lease and train, they come from Kentucky and other places pretty far away. And then ann gets free board because she does barn lessons and also helps organize the shows. So it really depends on what you do.

In general, the pay for jobs working with horses is terrible.  Most people who are working with horses are doing it because it's what they love doing, rather than expecting to make money.  The hours are long and the work can be brutal, in all kinds of weather.

It's hard to give you a direct answer to how much people can make working with horses, because most of the jobs that aren't menial are independent contractor jobs, and how much you earn is largely dependent on factors that aren't easy to standardize.  

What, specifically, do you want to do?  Groom horses?  Train horses?  (If training, what discipline?) Be an exercise rider, a jockey, an assistant trainer?  Do you want to shoe horses?  Be a bloodstock dealer?  An agent?  Do you want to work with show horses?  If so, what kind?  do you want to work with race horses?  

The more specific you make your query, the more information people can give you.  But "equestrian stuff and how much they pay" is just not enough information to go with.

By and large jobs in the equine industry don't pay well over all unless you are at the elite level or like top pro riders in some sports, sponsored by a company that provides products or services to the equine industry.

Like another poster said...most folks work in the industry because of their love for horses or for whatever discipline they participate in.
