  1. If you're talking about becoming an equine vet, its all about the GRADES and experience helps, but grades (and I'm talking A's) are what will get you into vet school.

  2. If you plan on becoming a vet, I suggest you learn how to spell first.

  3. please be more specific

  4. Are you talking about becoming one or is an Equine Vet coming for a visit today??

  5. I don't understand the question either.

  6. please explain what you mean

  7. what do you mean "prepare/ prepair"?

do you mean Get ready for one to come to work on your horses? or what ?

  8. First of all - there is no such thing as an equine vet - you will have to train in everything, later on you might be able to specialise in equines.

Don't go to an interview expecting to talk about horses and their ailments -  you might get a chance to talk about what you know about, but it won't be anything too complex.

There are huge numbers of 'horsey' people applying, but an interview panel will expect you to have more of a general interest/knowledge of issues concerning all animals not a specialist knowledge of one.

So what do you know about cattle, sheep, pigs? Can you name a single breed of any one? What is stratified sheep farming about? How did the last outbreak of FM disease start?

What is your opinion on fox hunting, badger culling for TB?

Is the dangerous dogs legislation any good? What do you think about battery farms?

These are the sorts of thing you should be thinking about and researching if you don't know already.

You need to be thoughtful and have an opinion on some of the numerous general issues that affect vets in their daily lives. Specialist knowledge is what you get while training.

  9. i want to become a equine vet too. i am just trying to be around horses all the time. you need to feel comfortible around them. try to find a stable you can work at. purdue is an excellent equine place.
