Equipment for ice hockey?

I am going to be taking a course in ice hockey at my school very soon and I had some questions about the kind of equipment needed for the sport. I know I will need skates, a stick, helmet, and certain protective padding and clothing. What kind of padding and clothing will I need? Are shoulder pads the same thing as chest pads?

Definitely get a cup. If you get whacked in the berries, your social life will be over.

5. Gloves.(RBK (reebok) is the best)

6. Ice Skates. (RBK (reebok) is the best)

7. A hockey stick. (Easton is the best)

8. Helmet. (Try and get one with a cage. There would be a less chane that you will get hurt in the face.)(CCM is the best)

9. Pants.(Nike Bauer is the best)

10. Jock shorts (male) or a Jill (female)

11. Hockey Bag.

12. Practise jersey. (If not given)
