Question:

Equivalent Leakage Area in the California Building Code?

I have to size an exhaust fan for a refrigeration machinery room for the first time, and one of the calculations for minimum airflow requires me to reference a table showing "equivalent leakage area" in the California Building Code. The problem is I can't find this table anywhere... Anyone know where to find this table in the CBC?

It all stemmed from 1108.2.1 in the California Mechanical Code.

  1. Wow, I saw the same problem. Leakage area ISN'T IN THE CODE!

I used the formulas in the 2007 mechanical code to calculate leakage. There are also some papers and books with tables on typical leakage.
