Erasing data off memory stick?

Question

I have a 1 gigabyte memory stick for my PSP. On it, I had some saved games and a few demos. I wanted to erase them because I was running out of room. So I erased it, but the PSP still says that I have only 22 MB left. How can I erase the data when it isn't even being read when I hook up the USB for the PSP to the computer?

How can I really erase the stuff when there's nothing left to erase?

I don't know, im not good with PSP's...

make sure you check each folder (pictures, video, game, PSP) etc and make sure you got everything. If not, try pulling out your memory card and re insert it.
