Erazem Lorbek, Thabo Sefolosha, Victor Samnick: Top players from Euroleague’s November 03 games
Seven games took place in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague season 2011-12 on Thursday, November 03, 2011. Here is a brief review of some of the breath-taking performance on the night:
FC Barcelona Regal vs. Unics Kazan
Erazem Lorbek
Erazem Lorbek had a monster night against the Unics. Lorbek headed all scorers with 24 points and FC Barcelona Regal remained undefeated in Group D of the regular season by beating the Unics 93-65 at Basket-Hall. The Slovenian
power centre grabbed five rebounds and dished out two assists in their third straight victory.
Lorbek, who won the Euroleague 2004-05 Rising Star award, ended on a 9 for 11 shooting from two-point range and 2 for 2 from three-point range.
Juan Carlos Navarro
Juan Carlos Navarro also played a solid game with 19 points and four rebounds in the victory. He played for more than 24 minutes and went 4 for 6 from two-point range, 3 for 8 from down town and 2 for 2 from free throw line.
Pete Mickeal
Barcelona’s small forward Pete Mickeal was another bright spot in their victory. Mickeal came off the bench with 16 points 5 for 6 shooting from two-point range. The 6 ft 6 in American player grabbed six rebounds, dished out two
assists and pinned 2 of 2 free throws.
Terrell Lyday
Terrell Lyday once again led the Unics with 14 points in their second consecutive loss of the season. Lyday concluded the game on 5 for 9 shooting from two-point range.
Fenerbahce Ulker vs. SLUC Nancy
Thabo Sefolosha
At Abdi Ipekci Sports Hall, Thabo Sefolosha’s team-high performance was all that the slumping Fenerbahce Ulker needed to snap their two-game losing streak of the Euroleague regular season. Sefolosha chipped in 19 points as Fenerbahce
registered their first victory of this season with a 90-86 victory over the SLUC Nancy.
The 27-year-old guard forward’s shooting on the night was impressive as he finished with 5 for 6 from two-points range, 2 for 4 from downtown and 3 for 6 from free throw line.
Victor Samnick
Victor Samnick could not win the game for SLUC Nancy, but he played the best game of his Euroleague career. Samnick tallied a career-high 24 points in Nancy’s second straight loss of the season. He was 12 for 16 from two-point
range and pulled down four rebounds.
John Linehan
John Linehan set an all-time record with 15 assists in the loss. He broke the previous record of 14 assists shared by Theo Papaloukas and Tyus Edney. Linehan also had four steals during his 33 minutes of action.
Nicolas Batum
Nicolas Batum had a strong all-around game in the losing effort. The 22-year-old French basketball player punctuated 22 points on 9 for 10 shooting from free throw line, grabbed six rebounds, dished out six assists and stole the
ball for four times.
Adrien Moerman
The Unics’ forward Adrien Moerman recorded a double-double in the loss. The player pulled down a game-best 15 rebounds and scored 11 points to go along with four steals.
