  1. RAW is incorrect. Bipedalism evolved through male hominins (on the path to homo sapiens sapiens) provisioning their females, thereby gaining preferential sexual access (for "bringing home the bacon":- as with chimpanzees, our closest relatives, the males hunt monkeys, baboons, etc., with the successful male distributing his kill). Those females were better nourished, all year round, and, as a result, developed the evolutionary advantage of becoming free of being in "season", like other animals. Instead, they can be fertile, all year round (although their bodies still necessarily retain the menstrual cycle).

It is a more energy efficient mode than "knuckle walking", or true quadripedalism (although being slower is one disadvantage, and animals can move through jungle, and tangled scrub much quicker [personal experience, and nature documentaries] ), and enables the use of  tools, and weapons.

The human body is not yet truly structurally well adapted to bipedalism, and as a result, about a quarter of people suffer from back problems.

  2. adv:carry weapons, run faster, can see predetors easier, climbing, general use of hands

disadv: can be seen by predetors easier

i dont't know anymore sorry but if it's an argument adv would win because it's how we evolved

  3. Being bipedal, the human fore limbs, which were once used as front feet,  developed in to hands that later became very useful in holding and them later making things. It is also a more energy efficient means of locomotion although much slower.

  4. Bipedalism developed for sight. Not for using our hands. As the env. changed into plains in Africa (less trees because thats where we were prior), we began to stand more and more erect. To look for prey. As Bipedalism slowly evolved so did our forelimbs into hands. Useful in tool making, using hands for social communication etc etc. Thus changing brain development. Which helped us develop into who we are today.

Thus Adv.= ability to see further range, frees up forelimbs use tools, ability to communicate with hands, brain development

Disadva=slower (yet can walk longer distances than four leggers)

  5. Walking on two legs can free the arms to carry things and to use weapons. Bipedal locomotion is much slower.
