John Guidetti’s hat-trick and a goal from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Otman-Bakkal-c28851 doomed the defending Dutch champions to a 4-2 defeat in the first 2012 Klassieker.
On match-day 19, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam cruised to a 4-2 win over their arch-rivals Ajax Amsterdam at De Kuip Stadion on Sunday, January 29.
The Rotterdammers had failed to secure a single victory against the Amsterdammers in their last 10 head-to-head encounters. However, history was not to repeat itself as the home side dominated from the off.
De Joden goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kenneth-Vermeer-c20618, made an impressive save to deny John Guidetti’s long range effort from hitting the back of the net very early in the match.
Moments later, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Eriksen-c9074 made a darting run on the right flank and skipped past two defenders
before firing home from 25 yards to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Erwin-Mulder-c12875.
At the half-hour mark, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jan-Vertonghen-c17814 made a harsh tackle on Guidetti inside the box, and the Swedish ace coolly converted the resulting spot-kick to level the score-line.
Moments later, Vertonghen was presented with an opportunity to redeem himself but he headed straight at the Stadiumclub goalkeeper.
Three minutes before the half-time break, Guidetti scored his second of the evening to make it 2-1. Jordy Clasie’s free-kick found Otman Bakkal whose headed effort could only be parried by Vermeer, straight into the path of the Swedish teenager, and Guidetti
tapped home from close range.
The hosts continued to mount pressure on the Amsterdammers back-line after the break, and were rewarded for their persistence when Bakkal netted with ease. It was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Guyon-Fernandez-c15479 who played Bakkal though after displaying impressive dribbling skills in the
middle.
To their credit, Ajax did not give up despite going down 3-1 and played aggressive football. And they were given a glimmer of hope when Erwin Mulder's horrendous clearance in the 80th minute deflected off the onrushing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dmitri-Bulykin-c11392 into the
net.
However, it was all over for the defending Dutch champions when Guidetti completed his hat-trick three minutes later. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ruben-Schaken-c31854 played a good ball forward that found the Swedish ace, and he kept his cool to restore his side’s two-goal lead.
No further goals were added and the referee blew the final whistle, sending the home crowd into raptures.
