The Catalan mentor is pleased with the way Eric Abidal’s recovery from the liver transplant has gone so far.
Guardiola revealed that the veteran is doing quite well in recovering from the surgery that lasted nine hours.
As news broke about Abidal needing a liver transplant, many took out time to show their support for the French international. The player has been suffering from similar issues regarding his health for over a season.
During the last season, it was revealed that Abidal needed to have a tumour removed from his liver. The player had to be operated in the initial part of last year and fortunately the removal of the tumour was a success.
Understandably, it took the 32-year-old quite a while to recover from the operation, while the support from his teammates never died out.
The Frenchman was allowed to lift the UEFA Champions League trophy as La Blaugrana emerged as European Champions from last season’s final against Manchester United at the Wembley.
Just when it was believed that the player has put his health issues behind him, it was found out that he needed a liver transplant. Although sources revealed that Eric was aware that he would eventually go under the knife sooner or later.

The Barca skipper turns 32 today, as fans and teammates have all wished him well for the rest of his career.
The veteran defender has established himself as the backbone of the Barcelona defence over the recent years.
