Eric Berry returns to Kansas City Chiefs training facility – NFL News
Kansas City Chiefs’ defensive back, Eric Berry, who missed the last National Football League (NFL) season after receiving a season-ending injury during the season-opener against the Buffalo Bills, has returned to the team’s training facility, hoping to be
hundred percent fit before the start of the next season.
Berry is participating in the team’s offseason workout with his teammates and the player seems excited to have an opportunity of being around his teammates. He said:
“I’m definitely excited to be back with my teammates and just being in the locker room with those guys and they make me feel good, saying that they’re happy to see me and happy to have me back. That even makes me want to go even harder, seeing how excited
they are to see me. I just want to come in and play my part and whatever it takes. I’m ready for whatever.”
Berry is not involved in rigorous workout, but he is expecting himself to attend all the training drills in the training camp, which will start this summer.
The defensive back started his professional NFL career with Chiefs in 2010 and was really impressive in his rookie year as he registered 92 tackles in 16 games of the regular season.
He was expected to display a better performance in his second season, but the injury hampered his progress.
However, he is confident about living up to the expectations in the next season.
While answering a question about his injury, Berry said that he is fit and healthy, but he admitted that he is not taking part in hard drills at the moment. He wants to give the recovery its due time so as not to face any harsh consequences later.
He said:
“I’m feeling good. I feel real well, been running around doing a lot of things, but it’s no rush or anything. We’ve got a lot of time.”
A few days ago, Berry spoke of his injury via his Twitter account and, while referring to the infamous bounty scandal, asked the observers to note whether his injury had also come as a result of a deliberate hit from Bills.
However, he later said that he was just joking and he did not hold any grudge against anyone.
