Eric Boullier hopeful Renault will bounce back on the grid – Formula 1 news
Renault team boss Eric Boullier has said that he is hopeful his team will bounce back on the grid in the upcoming race weekends of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
He also said that finishing the race in the top ten positions in the last couple of races was a temporary situation of the team and he believes the drivers will show improvements in the next race weekends.
The team had a good start in the ongoing season as the drivers managed their runs on the podium in the initial race weekends. However, both Renault drivers, Vitaly Petrov and Nick Heidfeld seemed to be struggling for a better show in the last three races
of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Renault kicked off to disappointing recently held European Grand Prix, where both the drivers failed to secure their best positions on the race day. Heidfeld had a very close fight with Force India’s Adrian Sutil and Sauber’s Sergio Perez for a few laps
and finally completed his race in the tenth place.
The team boss discussed his car performance in the season so far and said, “If our car was so good at the beginning of the season, we must be able to get that level of performance back for the remaining 11 races. Now is a good time to really, really push
and comprehend why we haven’t been able to keep our pace relative to the other teams on the grid.”
Boullier mentioned that they have to react well in the upcoming race weekends and must fight for the 2011 title.
He went on to add, “My feelings are quite mixed; we had a very strong start to the season with a couple of podiums, but obviously we have now had a few races where we haven’t performed as well as we need to. We think we have a clear understanding of what
may have gone wrong and we’ve started to correct it.”
The team has delivered some new upgrades to their car for better results in the upcoming British Grand Prix. Let’s see how they manage their race at the Silverstone race circuit.
