Eric Boullier says Renault ready to welcome Kubica back in team – Formula 1 news
Renault boss Eric Boullier has said that they are ready for their driver Robert Kubica, but they are waiting for him to tell the team he is also ready to rejoin them.
Boullier added that they have everything ready for Kubica and even the 2009 season’s cars are ready in the garage to fire up.
The team boss talked to the media and stated that he is still in regular contact with Kubica’s manager, but he does not know at the moment when he will be able to drive an F1 car.
The Enstone-based outfit is still waiting for their injured driver Robert Kubica to come back to the team and take part in practice sessions for the last two races of the 2011 Formula 1 season for them.
Boullier commented, “The last information I have is that we will have to sit down and discuss how we can handle his [Kubica's] comeback, because I don't believe he can commit in the coming days. In the coming weeks maybe – but not coming days.”
He went on to mention, “So we have to make sure that we work together on a plan for him to come back. But I still need to have a proper plan to make sure that, which I don't wish, if he is not coming back how we go forward in a good way.”
The Renault boss further added that he is sure he is the first one, who is wishing to have Kubica back in the car after his crash back in February.
On the other hand, the team is trying its best to end the ongoing season in a decent manner.
In the recently held Indian Grand Prix, both of the drivers Vitaly Petrov and Bruno Senna finished the race at the 11th and 12th places respectively after using their R31 cars at the Buddh International Circuit.
After completing 17 rounds of the 2011 Formula 1 season so far, the team Lotus-Renault is placed at the fifth place behind Mercedes GP with 72 points in the standings.
Let’s see how both of the drivers Petrov and Senna manage the last two rounds of the ongoing season, which will be held in Abu Dhabi and Brazil respectively.
