The 23 year old shooting guard aims high as the new look New Orleans Hornets head towards a new beginning ....

The New Orleans Hornets have seen a lot of change come their way over the summer which has been followed by a promise to become one of the better contending teams in the NBA.
During the off-season, the Hornets found a new owner in form of Tom Benson which was followed by them getting the first pick in this year’s draft. The Hornets used the pick to select Anthony Davis thus setting themselves on their
way to a positive direction.
While there may be still time as the likes of Davis and Austin Rivers develop their game into being prime players around the NBA, the future certainly looks bright.
However, to promising shooting guard, Eric Gordon, the Hornets are not far away and he excitedly anticipates the team to make the playoffs in their first year under the new regime.
“We have a lot of young talented players who will be very good for us,” Gordon said. “This is a long-term process; it’s not a year or two where we’re going to be a championship caliber of team. I’m just looking forward to being
in the playoffs this year and many more years of possibly getting a championship.”
There is no doubt that with the current group of players present in the Hornets ranks, they certainly have a bright future and will not go down as one of the worst teams in the Western Conference.
However Gordon’s expectations of leading the Hornets into the playoffs may have to face a rain check as teams like the Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks will also be battling for the final few playoffs positions.
And despite the promise of a successful foreseeable future, they might have to wait another season to make it to the playoffs as they grow accustomed not only to each other but to being considered among the better teams in the
NBA.
But it is certainly good to see Gordon aiming high for the future as it depicts off a positive aura for the Big Easy fans who would like to see their team back in the playoffs and get out of the trauma they had to go through with
the departure of Chris Paul.
