Vancouver Whitecaps FC finally notched a win after a two-month draught against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Philadelphia-Union-c40231 at Empire Field.
While the team’s chances of making it to the playoffs this season are next to impossible, the recent victory was an encouraging performance for a club playing their first ever MLS season.
Eric Hassli was the decisive factor in the game as his brace took the game away from Fire’s reach.

His second goal came from Camilo Sanvezzo’s free-kick. His initial attempt was thwarted by the post but the rebound fell kindly to his feet and he wasted no time in burying the ball into the net.
“I was just concentrating on getting the ball into the right position to make the great shot,” Hassli said. “It was my pleasure to score those great goals.”

“We spent this week really focusing on commitment to defending, and not just our [defenders], I’m talking about the forwards,” Soehn said. “Camilo and Eric did a fantastic job of winning ball to help us out in the middle of the park. Defensively, there was

The Caps have improved to 3-11-9 (3 wins, 11 losses and 9 draws) but their position in Western Conference remains unchanged; bottom of the table.
