Eric LeGrand's fight with paralysis inspires Tampa Bay Buccaneers players - NFL News
Tampa Bay Buccaneers made an inspired charitable move in early May after head coach, Greg Schiano, went ahead to sign paralyzed Rutgers University defensive tackle, Eric LeGrand.
This was a wonderful gesture by the Buccaneers as an organisation as they fulfilled LeGrand’s dream of being part of a National Football League (NFL) franchise.
Now after a month into his new contract with Tampa Bay the former defensive tackle, visited his new teammates and talked about the challenges he faces in his life since being paralyzed from the neck down after making a tackle.
His speech inspired the players gathered in the locker room to hear him out and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tweeted that LeGrand’s visit had given players a new outlook on how to deal with problems and challenges.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, after his visit LeGrand said that he had started a charity to help people suffering from similar problems with donations coming from the sales of his new Buccaneers jersey.
He also talked about his continuing rehabilitation.
"I wasn't going to let doctors tell me that this wasn't going to happen or just a bunch of negative stuff. I just go ahead and fight and get to where I want to get to. I always believe in coach Schiano's saying that where there's a will, there's a way.
Adding further he said.
“You can will stuff to happen in this world. If you believe in yourself and you believe in the man up above, anything is possible."
Schiano had coached LeGrand during his time as the University’s head coach and one of his first moves since the drafts was to sign up the defensive tackle whose dream of playing professionally was shattered.
He said about LeGrand.
"I'm really proud of the way (Eric) represents and lives his life. I don't know if I could do that,"
LeGrand is an inspiration for us all to take on challenges that face us head on.
