Question:

Erik Bedard for Nick Markakis?

Should I trade away Markakis to get Bedard?

My pitching is lacking, so I'm trying to improve it, and I'm willing to part with an outfielder.

I know Bedard's stock is low now because of his bad start and the fact that he's on a bad team. Do you think Markakis is too much to give up for him and I should try to give less? Or is that a fair trade?

I also own Jason Bay, who I could try to trade for Bedard.

Thoughts?

  1. No way. Bedard will not regain his draft day value anymore. Nick Markakis is a huge second half guy and he is much moer valuable than Bedard. Bay has done this before so I believe this as well.

Bedard is not a fantasy ace. He is a number 2 pitcher now because he is so inconsistent and injury prone. I would try for a even lesser bat and if they dont want to do it, go get a different pitcher. It's a lost season for Bedard.

  2. Trade bay for Bedard

  3. keep bay. move markakis for bedard if you can. this is the time to get bedard... the guy just doesn't suck and could very well end up playing for the yanks before the season is through - those are easy wins even for a mediocre pitcher (which bedard is not). BUY LOW!!!

  4. I would do it.

  5. I would see if the guy would bite on Bay first. Markakis is a good player who helps you out in all categories.

You are going to gamble on Bedard if you give up Markakis, it could pan out but its a gamble.
