Erik Cole’s two goals guide Carolina Hurricanes to a 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning

The final game of Friday was played at the St. Pete Times Arena as Carolina Hurricanes won 4-3 against Tampa Bay Lightning.
The game started off with both teams making a decent start with Lightning scoring the early goal to get into the lead.
Hurricanes got better and better with the passage of time and scored to level the scores at the end of the period.
Hurricanes was strong on the offence and managed to score the lone goal of the second period to get into the lead.
The final 20 minutes of play saw Hurricanes' superb at the start as it scored two goals to get in a comfortable position.
However, Lightning was able to fight back and scored two goals to trail by a single goal.
Unfortunately, Lightning fell short by a goal and it was Hurricanes who won the game, 4-3, in the end.
Erik Cole of Hurricanes was named the star of the game as he scored two goals during the course of the game.
Lightning with the home advantage was stronger on attacks and it looked as if it would score a goal most certainly. The home team capitalised from the start and scored in the 8th minute through Simon Gagne's flick shot to get into the lead.
Hurricanes was able to get better with the passage of time and scored in the 13th minute through Jeff Skinner to level the scores. Hurricanes came up with a few more shots on goal but was unable to score any further goals.
The period ended with the scores level on 1-1 with Hurricanes making 16 shots on goal while Lightning made seven shots on goal.
The second period kicked off with Hurricanes dominating the game in the department of offence. Carolina scored in the 9th minute through Erik Cole during a power-play from a simple shot to get into the lead.
Hurricanes came up with a tight defence that didn’t let the opposing offence create any chances.
The period saw Hurricanes coming up across several scoring chances but it was unable to bag any goals. The period came to an end with Hurricanes leading 2-1.
The final period saw Hurricanes dominating at the start and scored in the 7th minute through Erik Cole once again from a brilliant backhand shot.
Eric Staal scored also scored again in the 13th minute during a power-play.
Lightning responded by scoring in the 14th and 15th minute through Vincent Lecavalier and Simon Gagne, respectively.
However, Hurricanes won the game 4-3 in the end, making 15 shots on goal while Lightning made 11 shots on goal.
