The Giallorossi midfielder has stated that while he is motivated to improve, the tactical emphasis of the Italian game is something that he is struggling to cope with.

The Argentine international joined the Rome outfit in 2011 from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/River-Plate-c40368, and impressed in his first season with the team under the leadership of former manager Luis Enrique.
Lamela stated that his transition into the capital club was a good one, and revealed that he had little pressure on him in his first year with the Italian outfit.
The Giallorossi midfielder stressed that while he is satisfied with the performances of his last season, he still wants to continue improving to provide more productivity for his team in the attack.
The Argentinean was adamant that all the teams will start the new season with an equal opportunity of winning the Scudetto, but maintained that AS Roma have a lot of strength in their ranks and he is hoping for a good season.
While talking to the press, the 20-year-old said:
“I never felt too much pressure in my first season, but I do want to score and provide more assists for my teammates too. Can we win the Scudetto? Every team can. My objectives are the same as everyone else’s, as I want to have a good season and hopefully
win.”

Lamela insisted that while he has improved in his fitness and tactical ability, but maintained that the strategic nature of the Italian game is something that requires a lot of hard work from him to learn.
“I have improved physically as a player, but above all tactically, as Italian football is much more tactical than what I’m used to. It’s a bit of a struggle.” He added.
