Lamela joined the Giallorossi from Argentine side, River Plate, during the summer transfer window for a fee which could be raised up to 19-million-Euros based on performance based incentives. The midfielder aggravated a knee injury
while playing for the Argentine U-20 side last month and was ruled out for approximately of six to eight weeks.
Reports in the Italian media suggested that the Argentine international could make his debut in a league game against Siena later this month but Lamela has no intentions of rushing back until he is fully fit. The 19-year-old revealed
that he is desperate to play for Roma but he needs to spend more time in the training before any first-team action.
Talking to the reporters Lamela said, “I would like to be at 100 per cent before making myself available to boss Luis Enrique. I’ve been unable to train that much with the squad so far and obviously I’m not at my best right now,
but I’m looking forward to playing for my new club.”
Roma had a poor start to the 2011/12 season as they were knocked out of the preliminary round of the UEFA Europa League and also lost their first league game 2-1 to Cagliari at home. Lamela is not concerned with the poor start
and believes that they can bounce back strongly in the future games.
“I thought Roma played quite well versus Cagliari. Unfortunately things didn’t go our way. I’m not concerned about our start to the season though.” added the South American star
The midfielder is widely tipped as one of the most promising young attacking midfielders in the game and has already drawn comparisons with Real Madrid and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/River-Plate-c40368 has
