Erik Spoelstra optimistic to get LeBron James back on the track in the game-5 of the NBA Finals
After another epic meltdown in the game-4 of the NBA Finals against the spirited Dallas Mavericks, the only thing Miami Heat is looking for at the moment is to have their small forward LeBron James back on the track to run their
offensive system.
Heat’s coach Erik Spoelstra is optimistic on James comeback in the game-5 of the series on Thursday and said,
“He will be more aggressive and have more of an attack mentality tomorrow night. He doesn't need to over think it. He's a great player. He's a proven player. He knows how to be aggressive and how to pick his spots. I don't want him
to necessarily over think it. The aggressive mentality will be enough. We will do some things to help him, put him in positions to be aggressive.”
The two-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) James had a game-4 to forget. In more than 45 minutes of playing time, James only managed to score 8 points and failed to land a bucket in the fourth quarter when Miami was leading by 9 points.
LeBron missed 8 shots from the field out of 11 attempts only and didn’t strive to power the team offensively throughout the game. Mavericks’ sharp-shooter Dirk Nowitzki exploited the situation despite of sneezing and coughing with
101-degree fever and marshalled Dallas down the stretch for an electrifying 86-83 win and tied the series 2-2.
"Eight points is definitely inexcusable for myself. I hold myself up to a higher standard than that. I had to do a better job of putting myself in situations where I can benefit myself and my team, no matter how many minutes I'm
out on the floor." James said.
A substantial decline was observed in James’ performance since the start of the NBA Finals which went down to his worst performance ever. It’s quiet surprising that a player who has been the overriding power for Miami Heat and
guided them into the Finals, melts down dramatically at the time when team needed him the most.
The determination to clinch his fist NBA championship title has been quite an exhibit since the start of the 2010-2011 season however, maybe it’s the fear of failure or the immense pressure of the big stage which is restricting
LeBron James to be himself.
There is no doubt that James has the strength and ability to make a strong comeback anytime however he needs to understand that there is not much time left for a further delay and Miami is relying heavily to clinch their first
championship with LeBron. Spoelstra and other teammates are determined to support the big man in the upcoming game on Thursday and optimistic on James comeback.
