Erik Storck and Trevor Moore hoping for string races ahead: 2012 Olympic Games
Sailing competitions in the 2012 Olympic Games are underway where the leading sailors of different classes are producing fireworks. The weather conditions on the London waters were quite ideal for the sailors to complete scheduled racing on the third day
of the games.
With outstanding performance on the English waters on Day 3, the US Olympic Sailing Team has clinched strong positions in the respective standings of Women Match Racing, RS:X Men and Women, Finn, Star, Laser and Laser Radial and 49er class.
The 49er team of US Olympic Sailing Team comprising of Erik Storck and Trevor Moore started brilliantly in the first couple of races but were unable to hit the leading position and finished on lower podium places. However, they cruised into higher positions
on the third day proceedings with some tremendous sailing show and claimed a bullet in the final race which brought them to the seventh spot.
The US pair crossed the finish line on 16th place in the second last race which was the lowest score they grabbed during their campaign. The duo is aiming to continue their good performance in the upcoming days and claim the leading podium places.
While speaking to the local media, Storck said, “We were happy with conditions both days. We had a good game plan for the fourth race that we executed. We like flat water and breeze, and expect to have more the next few days.”
Moore added, “It’s always a thrill to win a race. I think our mentality is going to be the same, taking one race at a time, one start at a time. Hopefully by the end of it we’ll be there fighting for a medal.”
