Eriko Tamaki tames Bethany Wei in Women’s Singles clash at World University Badminton Championships
Japan’s spirited player Eriko Tamaki showed a steely determination on court and proved her worth by beating Canada’s Bethany Wei Yan So in Women’s Singles clash at the 12th World University Badminton Championships 2012 on Wednesday, November 7,
in Korea.
The in-form Eriko, who has been working well in training sessions for the last few months, showed a wonderful aggression and did not face any problem form her Canadian rival in winning the battle in a one-sided fashion in just 17 minutes.
Japanese shuttler did not show any respect to her rival in the whole contest and remained successful in finished it up in a spectacular fashion in straight games with a huge margin on the score board.
On the other hand, Bethany was completely helpless and confused against the mighty Japanese shuttler as she could not put up strong resistance at any stage throughout the tournament and lost the match without creating a strong impact.
In the opening game, the impressive speed and powerful strokes of Eriko helped her to take control of the pace right from the starting points and she created pressure on her rival in an easy manner.
Eriko showed that she has attained top quality skills on court and ultimately successful in taking a strong domination on court.
It was Eriko who showed no respect to her aggressive opponent in the first half and clinched a spectacular lead in the game.
After the one-minute interval, the impressive Eriko stayed focused in the arena and by playing with wonderful speed and remained successful in keeping a sound gap on the board.
It was a smooth sailing for the in-form Eriko who did not face a tough resistance and won the opening game with a stunning margin of 21-8.
In the meanwhile, Bethany was again in trouble in the second game when she faced a punishing treatment from her Japanese challenger who was in aggressive mood on the court.
The cracking smashes and spinning net shots kept Eriko in good position in the arena and she took a huge lead until the break.
After the interval, Eriko remained focused and confident on court and finished up the set with a crushing margin of 21-6.
The impressive Eriko earned success in this Women’s Singles clash with a stunning 21-8 and 21-6 score on the board.
