Thai Premier League club BEC Tero Sasana's technical development director Sven-Goran Eriksson could leave his current team to move to second-division side 1860 Munich, according to his good friend Hamada Iraki. Apparently, the
veteran trainer has been offered the position of manager at the German club.
The tactician is tipped to be the Lions caretaker after the sacking of former coach Reiner Maurer. Eriksson has the expertise and the experience to take charge of the club and change their fortunes as a result. He was an England
boss for five years and ended his association with them after the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
The 64-year-old was a spectator in the second division side’s 2-0 home defeat to FC Koln on Friday as a guest of Hamada Iraki. Iraki who is a Palestinian banker works for the majority shareholder of the club, Sheikh Hasan Abdullah
Ismaik. He also aided Hasan to get a major share of the team last year.
The banker has hinted that the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-c31222 Schafer claimed that Eriksson is a close friend of Iraki, and came to Munich
and then was invited by the latter to see the second-tier side in action.
"Eriksson is a good friend of Iraki; he was in Munich and used the opportunity to watch a game,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The trainer’s presence at the Allianz Arena hinted that he could be the team’s next manager as their previous coach was laid off. Moreover, even Iraki has not ruled out the possibility of his friend coaching 1860. The Munich side
is struggling for form this season and is currently in eighth place following 14 matches.
"I wouldn't rule it out that he will be the 1860 coach in the future," he finally concluded.
Eriksson worked for England national team before, and helped them to reach three quarter-finals in major tournaments.
