Erin Purdy conquers gold medal in diving event – High School State Championships, Illinois
Erin Purdy of Deerfield conquered the title of diving event at the 2011 Girls High School State Championships in Illinois on Saturday, November 19 in Winnetka.
Purdy demonstrated her astonishing efforts and pocketed gold medal of the diving event by scoring a total of 405.95 points. She was trailed by Kaitlyn Neiheisel of New Lenox, who remained 23.80 points behind her former finisher and reached the podium for
silver medal with a fabulous score of 382.15 points.
The silver medallist remained marginally ahead of her former competitor, Juliette Corboy of Vinnetka. Corboy was nearly two points away from overwhelming the efforts of her preceding finisher and ended third with a score of 380.35 points for bronze medal.
The fourth best spot was obtained by Caroline Grant of Winnetka, who remained 1.40 points behind bronze medallist and gained a total of 378.95 points.
The fifth fastest spot was occupied by Meghan Downey of Downers Grove, who was 0.50 points away from fourth finisher, achieving a total of 378.45 points.
Downey was trailed by Taylor Kramer of Lisle, who achieved sixth best spot of the event with a total of 365.55 points. Kramer remained nearly seven points ahead of her following rival, Taylor Eggenberger of Aurora as she scored a total of 358.80 points.
Eggenberger overwhelmed the efforts of her strongest competitor, Olivia Loucks of Winnetka with a difference of 2.60 points. Loucks earned eighth finest spot of the event as she captured a score of 356.20 points.
With her gruelling efforts, she remained nearly four points away from her rival, Kyleigh Seibert of Frankfort, who achieved a total of 352.75 points for ninth position.
Seibert remained almost five points ahead of Grace Miller of Aurora, who accomplished a score of 347.95 points for tenth position.
The eleventh spot of the race was secured by Alyssa Applebee of Morris, who ended up with a total of 341.75 points.
The session came to an end after the conclusion of all listed events, whereas the winners were invited on the medal rostrum for their splendid efforts after the conclusion of the championship.
